According to the “selective photothermolysis” theory, this technique acts just on a specific pigment. Melanin is the name of the pigment that gives our hair and skin their color.
A specific wavelength of light ( 810 nm) is produced by a diode laser. Melanin-containing hair shafts absorb the laser device’s light beam, which causes all hair follicle cells—including those in the hair papilla—to die. The surgery is completed in a flash, the hair stops receiving nutrition, and after 14 days of the procedure, it dies and falls out.
Since the follicle is also destroyed, no new hair will grow in to replace the one that falls out, leaving your skin permanently smooth.
